Deboo
« on: Monday 01 March 10 15:44 GMT (UK) »
Hi all, just wondered if anyone has any information or could point me in the right direction of an Abraham Deboo. Born 1700 and married Elizabeth Hill, they had a son called Samuel Deboo. The family stayed around the Wittlesey area of Cambridgeshire. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

Hi

Yes - that rings a bell!

I have a comprehensive DeBoo tree, headed by Abraham and ELzabeth nee Hill, but you are really best getting in touch with a person (I will pm you the details) who heads up the Deboo one name study. He has researched in great detial descendents from Abraham and Elizabeth.

Interested to hear your connection. My husband descended from Ephraim,  son of the Samuel you mention!

I will pm you the details of the guy to contact - I hope you get it as I dont know if you havwe made enough posts to access the pm system yet.

Hi Foxy

You usually need 3 postings to use the Personal messaging system so just answer Liz here a couple more times.....a load of gobbledegook if you wish  ;) and you'll be able to get stuff by PM from her.

Hey Liz,
Wow... i'm excited now! I got your private message but for some reason have no option to reply. I guess its what you suggested Carol  ;D
Well Abraham & Elizabeth are my direct ancestors, 10 generations. If that makes sense? I'm kind of new to all this so i will definately contact the person you suggested. I have some of the Deboo history but not in great detail so any information you have is fantastic!
Hope to hear back from you soon,
Hayley

I’ve just come across a potential Abraham Deboo ancestor near Whittlesey from the late 18th century but can’t seem to find much out about them online. I’m guessing spelling varied a bit with pronunciation (though I’m not sure what else to look up).

His daughter appears to have married George Watson in Whittlesey St. Mary in November 1810.

Has anyone else any clues?

Many thanks!
