James Sales

I am still trying to find the birth of James Sales.  He married Elizabeth Haylor/Waters in 1842 - Goudhurst - Kent.

According to the 1851 Census he was born in Maidstone but on the 1861 Census it stated Goudhurst (age 50 years). 

His birth must have been between 1811 - 1817 and his father was also James Sales.  I have no information on who his mother was.

The family lived in Goudhurst after marriage and as far as I am aware, they had 6 children.

If anyone can find any information that might be helpful, I would appreciate it. 

I have come to one of those dreaded dead ends!!!

I will investigate these.  I dont think the third one is connected but you never know until you try do you.

This James Sales birth is proving to be a headache, as I just cant seem to find a connection anywhere!!!

I have received copies of both these marriages but as you know parish records do not give a lot of information. 

I think James Sales parents are more likely to be James and Sarah Budgen from Tonbridge.

Is there any way that someone could look at the 1841/1851/1861 Census to see if there is a mention of their family to find out if they had a James Sales for a son born around 1811/1817.  He married in 1842 in Goudhurst, so might just be lucky to find something on the 1841 Census.

Or, has anyone got any other suggestions as to how I can find out James Sales parents.

Thank you both for looking for me. 

I have researched all the information you have given me but still cannot find conclusive evidence of James parents!

Unfortunately Maidstone covered quite a wide area and there were a lot of Sales around at that time!!

If you do happen to come across anything else, please let me know.  It would be so nice to find them.
