See that you've several thread looking for Albins on other boards but you might get a better response here if you provide some names and dates. It also helps if you mention what sources you've already checked to avoid people suggesting sources and posting details you've already found.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

According to the Family Search site, there were Albins born in Meath in the 17th/18th century.  I have not managed to get as far back as that, but I have found the oldest of my Great-great grandfather's siblings in the baptismal registers of St. Patrick's Church of Ireland, Armagh in 1786.  Their parents were William and Lydia, but the surname then was Aubiney - or a variant of that.  The spelling seems to have been standardised by the time my Great-granfather was baptised in Kildarton,Armagh, in 1808.  Others in the family changed their name to Albin earlier than this, but my particular branch seems to have kept the original spelling until moving to Scotland somewhere between 1851 and 1857.
