Closest I could find is

Date of Marriage   12 Oct 1916
Groom Name   Herbert GIBB
Bride Name   Mary Jane CROTHERS
Church   Belmont Presbyterian Church
Parish   Holywood
Civil District   Belfast
County   Down

but christian names of bride and groom are both wrong!  "Herbert" could just about be a mistranscription of "Robert", I suppose.  It might just be worth ordering the certificate to see if Mary Jane was a widow as this marriage took place in the same church:-

Date of Marriage   27 Dec 1911
Groom Name   Charles F CROTHERS
Bride Name   Mary Jane LEWIS
Church   Belmont Presbyterian Church
Parish   Holywood
Civil District   Belfast
County   Down

Are you sure the name "Phoebe" is right?  You could also check out the Paxton Street address on the 1911 census http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/

Hi,
I have been having similar problems as above and I have found that the Commonwealth War Graves Commission only lists one WW1 death for a Charles Crothers and he was Canadian and his parents were listed as next-of-kin.

hi kingskerwell/akenex2,
the grandaughter of charles is the one i am looking up for , she was the one who told me it was pheobe=but she could be wrong?
charles was in the canadian raf she thinks when he was killed, (he took off and left her) , so maybe the war graves could be on to something ,i have had a look on 1911 census for paxton street and nothing
this ones a nightmare

There is a Charles Crothers in the 1911 census on Newtownards Road, Belfast (Victoria ward) aged 20 who could be your airman.  The father was also called Charles F Crothers.

I've merged today's post with the thread you already had to avoid needless duplication.
If you are trying to find details of James Crother's family the best place to start would be James' birth certificate which will show names of both parents.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
