Have you found a marriage for him? Found him on any censuses? etc
Let us know what you have found already about him and then we might be able to help your research.

This is the right family.
I have all the BMD info and censusses but wonder what happened to the family after that.
Alfred Mark Cave b 1832 married Mary Drayton. They were both born IoW. They had 8 sons and 1 daughter.
One son died young and my grandfather Walter Robert emigrated to NZ.
 I can't find marriage or death records for Edgar, Douglas or George Cave and wondered if they emigrated also.
Also Douglas Cave was a seaman. He may have married Edith Holmes in 1901 but neither of them appear in 1901 or 1911.
How do I find out if he died at sea?

So what you are actually wanting to find is Edgar, Douglas and George Cave after ...1911?

What are their birth years, and where were they last heard of .....

Yes,
 you are right.
The 3 sons I can't trace were all born in Gosport.

George Cave b 1858  no trace after 1881 census, when he was with parents.

Douglas Cave b 1865 no trace after 1891 census -  living as above

Edgar Cave b 1875 no trace after 1891 census -     living as above

I cant see them around in the later censuses either.

It might be worth checking to see if Alfred or MAry left Wills to see if their sons are mentioned with any clue as to their wherabouts.
