Maulden Marriage - MARRIOTT/BROWNING
« on: Monday 08 March 10 08:17 GMT (UK) »
Morning;

If anyone has access to Blunham Maulden parish records can they verify a marriage of John Marrat/Marriott to Elizabeth Browning on 18 May 1812

The IGI has 3 member submissions but no extracted entry.

If it does exist, is there any other info that you can let me have.

Thanks  John

Thanks Paco;  I must have been in a rush this morning; it is Maulden - why did I think it was Blunham.

Enjoy the snow, we had ours a few weeks back

Miller would be right, don't expect it says where he's from. There's an article in the latest Hertfordshire FHS journal that says he was the owner of Marriots Mill Cransley, Northants & she was born, supposedly, c.1791 Norton. Herts. The writer is looking for birth/baptism of Elizabeth Browning.  Any clues?  They both end up being buried in Cransley.

Correct. Both otp

Notwithstanding the 1851 census there are no Browning baptisms in Norton, which has been extracted onto the IGI. Just one marriage, in 1790, and no burials 1800-51. Were they non-conformist or is the 1790 marriage of Ann Browning significant?
