Hi,

Possible marriage registration for John Perkins and Sarah Carter SepQ 1839 in Bristol.  A copy of the certificate should show if John was a bachelor or widower.

Hi,

His marriage will be in the parish register; you can also get a copy of the certificate from the GRO.   The cost is £7 and can be ordered online at:

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates

You will need the reference details I gave earlier.

Certs usually take about 7 days to arrive.

Hi,

If the marriage in 1839 was John's second marriage he should be shown as "widower" in the register and on the certificate.

Civil registration began in  July 1837 so parish registers would need to be searched for an earlier marriage.

For their address for the 1841 census does Abbots leigh sound like the right area?
