1891, 1901 & 1911 census look up please :o)
« on: Wednesday 10 March 10 18:45 GMT (UK) »
I would be extremley grateful if someone could look up one Burton Lamb for me on the above censii.

Unfortunately all I know is that he was born c1885 - 90 and was the son of Burton Lamb.

He married in 1916 in Hull so I can only presume that he was in fact from the area and was a Lance Corporal in the KO (I think) YLJ ???  (Coal Miner) at the time of his marriage.

Many thanks in advance
Jo

1901 was a puzzle as Burton, shown aged 12, born Rotherham was a stepson of a Thomas and Jane Rosamund Braddock.

But they married AFTER the census.

Marriages Mar 1902

Braddock  Thomas     Doncaster  9c 1131
Cook  Ellen     Doncaster  9c 1131
Hetherington  William Henry     Doncaster  9c 1131
Lamb  Jane Rosemond     Doncaster  9c 1131

so it IS your man, as it links well to the 1891 census. (couldnt see a death of Burton Snr tho up to 1901 - maybe they had to wait ? )

1901 RG13; Piece: 4409; Folio: 89; Page: 44 Bolton Upon Dearne, Goldthorpe. Barnsley Rd.

Thank you everyone

I am really hoping this is my guy - not actually my blood relative but he married my great gran (now THERE'S a story) in 1915 and I have NO trace of her after that!!

The military could be a route to go down and I have a possible death to obtain the cert for.

Thanks again - much appreciated  ;D

This is probably a bit late, but I have quite a lot of information about the father of Burton Lamb (1889). He was my great-grandfather, Burton Lamb (1855-1941). You can email me at ..............................for a copy of my notes.
