Death at Sea - where do I look?

I am trying to find the death of Frederick William KEMP who died at sea in 1874.  I have no idea 'where' at sea he died.  If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.  Thank you.

I've looked on the Deaths at Sea on FindMyPast site but he'snot showing.  Can I ask when and where this man was born?

Thank you for looking.  Frederick was born in New Zealand.  He was about 18 when he died at sea.  I've check our New Zealand death records and he doesn't show up here.
