Looks like eldest son of the 1841 family has taken on all his unmarried sisters, and at least one widowed, (Julia and possibly Eliza)

does show they werent all twins and triplets though, as gives ages!!!!!! silly me on that one - I took one look at the 1841 didnt engage brain before sending post!!!

There is a book about the Perry family of Essex during this period. It makes for a really interesting social history. My own branch of the Perry family were from that area, but moved into London for work. My paternal grandfather (George Perry) worked at the railway engineering works at Stratford, London and lived in a rented house (now demolished) in Salway Road, Stratford. His wife was Ellen (who was born just within the reign of Queen Victoria) and his only son, George Arthur Perry. George married Iris Lilian Curtis (They were both born in 1927) and they had two children and adopted one, myself. They lived in Barking, Essex and in the 1980s moved to the village of Ingrave, close to Brentwood (of which Shenfield forms a part) in Essex.

We discovered that there is a 'Perry's field' not far from there. Our neighbour came across the book and I'm trying to locate the title online, but just keep getting stuff about Sarah Perry's famous novel 'The Essex Serpent' - now an Apple TV series. She's from further out in Essex and I don't know if that's her married name or if she's any relation - will have to ask her. I've read three of her books.

The Perry family seem to have had a tradition of calling the oldest son George. We moved to Brentwood because my mum was evacuated there during the war and liked it and one day she took the wrong turning coming home from work and ended up there and got the idea of moving there. My older sisters are still there in Shenfield and Rayleigh, but I moved to Bath. Not sure if all this is any help - I'm not good at dates. Hallo Rachel and thankyou for your response to my original post....although as you may have noticed it was dated back in 2005 !
My ancestor (Margaret Ann Noble) married into the family in 1850 so that was my original source of interest.
However, her husband Arthur Perry b 1832 Shenfield also published a book of his family history (1895?) in which I was lucky enough to find  photos of his wife and children, so it's always worth going sideways in your research!
The link you provided to your book of interest says that only 8 copies were printed, so you'd have to be very luck to find one! But if your sisters live fairly close by, is it not possible for one of them to approach Essex Archives and request to make a  photocopy, or you yourself via email? Archive people seem to be on the whole very friendly!

Hi, thanks for replying. i hadn't noticed the date because it was late at night and I'm a bit number-blind anyway. What was the name of the book your ancestor wrote, please? I'm wondering if that was the book I was lent, rather than the one I located online because I'd forgotten the title. I think that may have been a thinner book or booklet. The one I read didn't actually mention my direct branch of the family, as it ended or diverged before that. It was a really interesting book though and I was a bit miffed when our neighbour asked for it back after just a couple of days. I'd like to get hold of it if I can.

Sadly, I don't own a copy of the book and have not been able to locate a copy online or for sale. Arthur Perry and his family were later based in Dartford, Kent where he not only printed his own books but also picture postcards. Again, it is possible that Kent Archives or a library in Dartford may have a copy. Do let me know if they have!
