mccarrick family from sligo ireland

hi all
looking for info on the mccarrick family from sligo
here is what i have on the family
john mccarrick born in 1810 in sligo (brick layers labourer)
Bridget mccarrick born in 1809 in sligo
2 son's that we know of
thomas mccarrick  living at no 5  Charles sq gateshead in UK in 1871 census
peter mccarrick born in 1839 in sligo he is a lawyer
Ellen mccarrick (nee mannion) born in 1841 in sligo
they married in newcastle upon tyne in 1861
they had 8 children
john born in 1864 in gateshead
Anne born in 1870 in newcastle
Michael born in 1871 in newcastle
Charles born in 1873 in gateshead he married a Jane in 1901 in newcastle they had 3 children
Hugh born in 1874 in gateshead
Ellen born in 1877 in gateshead
Alice born in 1880 in gateshead
Elizabeth born in 1882 in gateshead she married a thomas pearson in 1899 they had 5 children

can any one help me out thanks
Elizabeth in my great grandmother




i have been told by my father that the mccarrick family are cousins of the Riley family

they must of married before 1839 as they had some children
thomas mccarrick born in sligo in ?
peter mccarrick born in 1839 in sligo peter married a ellen mannion in newcastle upon tyne in 1861
peter was a lawyer
ellen was born in 1841 in sligo

Have merged your latest post with the one you started last week to avoid having more than one thread looking for the same information.

Civil registration of births, deaths and Catholic marriages started in 1864 (from 1845 for other marriages) so for earlier dates you need to search for any existing church records. To do so you need to know both the family's religion and where they lived (parish if not actual townland not just the county).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

If you look closely at the census returns, Peter was actually a sawyer.

Do you know if this McCarrick family had any connection with the same named from Sligo who eventually settled at Blaydon/Winlaton?

the mccarrick family that went to blaydon on tyne from my is my ggrand mother she married a thomas pearson in 1899
i had looked on ancestry and i think it said he was a lawyer ?
all the mccarrick 's are from sligo

Probably best to re-check census records to check Peter's occupation- there's a big difference in status between sawyer and lawyer and a mistake could cause lots of problems with further research.
Sligo is the name of a county as well as a town- you need to know where the family lived in Ireland to search for church records, etc.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
