I know of recent there have been a number of threads referring to Societies, Orders and other groups. While looking for a relative of mine that belonged to an unknow society I came across this link that maybe invaluable to persons researching RAOB. (Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes ) in the Hereford area.
