Allesley baptism - COMPLETED
« on: Monday 15 March 10 16:59 GMT (UK) »
I`m hoping to find out more about Ada Jane Large who was born Oct/December 1875 in Allesley.

I think she may have been the illegitimate daughter of Jane Large, who had already had one illegitimate daughter, Laura Barton Large in 1872 - no father named on her birth certificate.

Any help would be appreciated (I know I could send for her birth cert but I`m trying to economise!)

Jane

1881 is free - have you looked there?

I see she is at RG11 3054 17 5

Described as dtr in law - but probably stepdaughter of Charles Page and dtr of Jane Page his wife. (But no older sis Laura there, just a couple of younger Pages)

Laura is with Large grandparents RG113054 70 9
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

In 1861 Jane Large age 9 bn Allesely is with parents Josh and Ann Rg92189 73 7
and the grandparents Laura is with in 1881 were Joshua and Ann
So it looks like it is the same family.

Thanks Liz
Yes I`d already found those - I was hoping to find a father for Ada - she was born before her mother married Charles Page. (I think she was pregnant again at the time of the marriage!). I`m guessing that if Charles had been Ada`s father she would have taken his surname by the time of the 1881 census.
I think I`ll have to get her birth certificate and see if that gives me any more information

Thanks for taking the time to help

Jane
