I couldn't see any signs of a marriage for David Graham and Elizabeth Young, nor any other children born to the same couple in the Arthuret register.
Probably totally irrelevant, but quite interesting, the only other Elizabeth Young mentioned in the Arthuret register was also Scottish, and also having illegitimate children:

Apr-01   1806   Bapt.   SMITH   William  Oliver Bastard son of Aglesfield Smith of Landshaw & Elizabeth Young of Burnhead in the Parish of Kirkpatrick N. Britain

Oct-17   1808   Bapt.   SMITH   Aglesfield Bastard son of Aglesfield Smith of Landshaw & Elizabeth Young of Burnhead in the Parish of Kirkpatrick Fleming, Scotland

Probably not the same Elizabeth Young, though it might be worth trying to discover what happened to the above children. Aglesfield would possibly be a mistranscription of Eaglesfield?

cheers

Bridget

Hi again  -you said this:

thanks
I have his death cert 1900 and marrage cert 1844.

The IGI, extracted, has an Andrew Graham marrying in Westerkirk, Dumfries on 10th June 1844 to Isabella Carruthers.  It will be in the banns/marriages section of SP  as there are no 'certificates' until after statutory registration started in Scotland in 1855.

I'd say that it was bad writing rather than spelling. Have you looked at the original rather than the index?

Both of these entries might be banns rather than a marriage. The C of Scotland entries are mostly for the proclamation of Banns. Sometimes the date of the marriage is entered in as well.

Have you looked at either of the entries in the SP site to see if it definitely  says marriage on 10 June or just banns?
