Trying to find someone.........
« on: Wednesday 17 March 10 12:36 GMT (UK) »
I don't know the best place to post this.

I'm trying to identify my gggg grandmother (don't know her surname)....I have 4 possible candidates & have posted on the relevant "place" boards & emailed posters with the same surname interests. One of the possible candidates is an Elizabeth Peach & it has just occurred to me that my godfather was a Cyril Peach....he's definitely dead now (I remember my parents getting a letter) but, if he were alive, he'd be in his 80s or 90s. I don't know where he was living etc. Unfortunately, the families lost touch & my father is now dead. As far as my mother can remember, he was simply a close friend of my father's, but I'm wondering if he might have been a distant relative going back to Elizabeth Peach & her family.

I don't really fancy setting out to research Cyril Peach's family tree.....so where's the best place for me to ask if someone has him in their family tree, so that I can try & establish if this is a wild goosechase ?

Thanks

Thanks for all your help everyone.

I've checked what I can. Cyril Peach was about the same age as my father, who was born in 1923. He was born, spent his whole life, & died in Nottingham. I think he died sometime between 1980 & 1990

Thanks a lot

This is the only one that I can see in Nottingham

Cyril Albert Peach born 2 July 1916 died Nottingham Sept 1992.

Seems his mothers maiden name was Walker.

Parents married in Nottingham in Mar 1915.

Thomas E Peach and Nellie Walker.

There was a Cyril PEACH (no middle name) born in Nottingham in 1920, but he seems to have died in 1996 up in Jarrow, Tyne & Wear.
