Hi Lizzie,

I suspect that he has down loaded someones information, and doesn't recognise the names....Tree out of control ::)

Think I would be tempted to contact him again, saying that, as GR are showing so many people linked to his Tree that are not connected to him ,would he like you to report these errors or would he like to do it himself, and you would be happy to provide him with all the incorrect information. ;)

If he hasn't got these people in his Tree, you would think he would be concerned about it, I would!

Hi Lizzie,

Hopefully he will have another look at his Tree and find the people you have found...nothing like a polite little nudge sometimes ;D

Best of luck, let us know how you get on.

Hi Ambers

Message sent, I await the response.  There are also two or three other names, that have at least 3 of my husband's ancestors listed.  I sent a message to two of them too, but haven't received a reply.  ::)

Lizzie

Modified - Just checked and the other 3 people haven't opened their messages, so perhaps they're no longer members.

Well, I got a reply.  He'd only looked at his direct line and the family I was researching was his paternal grandmother's family!  He has opened his tree and given me his personal e-mail address.  My guess is that someone else has done his tree for him, and that he didn't know his gran's maiden name.

I sent a quick message back saying I'd be in touch next week, although I don't think he has any more info in his tree than I already have.

Hi LIzzie,

Just shows how much attention some people don't give to their Tree's ::)

At least you have access to the Tree ;D and have his Email address which might come in handy if he leaves GR, as so many do.

I am glad the email lead to a  good outcome, better than thinking he wouldn't share his information with you. ;)

Happy hunting.

Ambers

Looking at it, he's got lots of lovely photos posted on his tree, including one of my husband's great aunt (sister of his gran).  He'll be thrilled when I show him tomorrow, especially as he only knew his paternal grandfather and he died when my OH was 12 and he doesn't seem to have any photos of his mother's family at all.  He knew her sisters (as I did too, they didn't die until they were all quite old) but most of his family seems to be a mystery to him.  His mother had a brother who my OH never saw, even though he apparently didn't die until 1970s.  I'm going to get the death cert to find out what he died of.  All my OH remembers is going to visit him once a week, but having to stay in the car whilst his parents went into the house. ::)

A contact sent me a photograph of my ggrandmother, until then I didn't know what she looked like...spooky, as it was like looking at myself :o

Glad to hear OH is interested in your hobby.
