I do not subscribe to the 1911 census for England, so you need to either look it up or get someone here to, to see if the family in the 1901 census is followable in 1911.

If so it should give the places of birth of the children, which are missing from the 1901 census

There is nothing to stop you searching the index, as I have just done.

It took a bit of time, thanks to the mis-transcription 

Earnest Evans Vickers is in Bromley with the rest of the family.

War diaries rarely mention men by name, but if you do want to follow, what are probably the movements of this Ernest Vickers, then here are the references, assuming that he stayed with 47 (2nd London) Division throughout:

WO 95/2738 is the ref. for 1/20th Battalion London Regiment right through from March 1915 to May 1919. This diary is available to download for £3-50 via Documents Online.

WO 95/2739 includes 141 Infantry Brigade; Brigade Machine Gun Corps from January 1916 to February 1918.

WO 95/2722 and WO 95/2723 cover 47 Battalion Machine Gun Company from March to July 1918 and August 1918 to April 1919 respectively.

I would just like to say thank you to everyone who helped me with this brick wall. 

I have managed to find Ernest's birth who is in fact illigitimate and was registered as Ernest Evans.  I have also managed to find his parents marriage and his wife's birth and death. 

The only thing I cant find is his death but I will keep searching.  His wife died in Hatfield, Hertfordshire so that's a little bit of help but he might have died during his war duties which I will have to look into.

I have managed to find Ernest's birth who is in fact illegitimate and was registered as Ernest Evans.

You did better than I did, I worked out that he was originally Ernest Evans, but could not find his birth as that name, the family seemed to move too often.

It was a fairly common occurrence to have an illegitimate child , say Fred Smith of Mary Smith with o father, then for Mary Smith to Mary and regularise the thing with the child taking the new husbands name.

I guess in those days there was not the same amount of paper work and bureaucracy involved in either registering or changing names.
