Thanks, did his parents get married??I take it they did .as andrews death cert says elisabeth graham ,maden name was young.I cant find record of marrage, and how can I find davis birth???

Have you got all the census records for the family?  Is the place of birth always the same?   Have you checked the local church register?  If you find a baptism for Andrew then you can go either side to see if there were other children and that may give an indication of the time they married.   Arthuret is on the IGI so if it does not show up there then you need to work out to neighbouring parishes.
Who were the witnesses at Andrew's marriage?
Wills?   What sort of work did they do etc.   Maybe there is a Scottish connection so it might be worth looking there for the marriage.

andrew died in scotland at middlebie, dumfries.and was married in 1844 at westerkirk, dumfries.
wife was isabella  maden name carruthers.

So what did it say about his father on the marriage certificate?  Witnesses?  Scottish records are usually very good.

Hi,I cant find the marrage, I take it its marrage banns ive got???
this is from westerkirk.
june 1st 1844 Andrew graham in this parish and Isabella carruthers in the parish of st mungo gave in thur names to proclantion and were married on monday 10th june following.
I found them on the 1851 cencus at kirkton hill?
andrew age 35 born canonbie. a molecatcher.
But I cant find any certs?
