A few questions so we can try to help you...
What's the document and is it a scan or a transcript?
(am wondering if the place of birth is a phoentic attempt from someone in a another country trying to write what they were told)

The cert is an original scanned copy of the1855 birth cert from Scots People  ,where it even shows the fathers signature.

Possibly Robert Milligan with his Irish brogue telling a Scots registrar where he was from did not quite compute.

I just figured someone from Derry might recognize what it might be...
Thanks for looking and the reply...

I've checked all the townlands in Co. Derry that begin with the letter 'm' and can't see anything close and also checked Milligans listed in Griffith's Valuation (mid-1800s) without any luck but perhaps someone else will be able to help.

There is an uofficial place-name called Macarragh in Culnaman townland in Desertoghill parish.

Is it possible for you to scan just the name and attach for us to see?

Nacarragh is a part of Culnaman townland and Maghera is pronounced ma-her-ra so I'm not sure either would be close enough.
