Louisa Maud

Do you have a birth certificate for any of Thomas and Sarah TREADWELL's children to confirm that the mother's maiden name was WOOD(S)?

There is a Sarah Woods (indexed by Ancestry as Sarah Wood) in the same household as Thomas Treadwell in 1841.

Class: HO107/ Piece 657/ Book 3/ Folio: 7/ Page: 7

I don't think that Sarah WOOD is in the same household as Thomas TREADWELL, although she is in the house nextdoor.  She appears to be the only occupant of that house and is described as a female servant aged 63 and NOT born in the county (Middlesex).  Thomas TREADWELL is in the household headed by Ann JOLLY, a female servant aged 70, is shown as aged 26 and NOT born in the county.

I also looked in the 1841 census for a 16 year old Sarah WOOD(S) in the vicinity of Harrow and found the following family in Kingsbury (Ref: HO107/657/8 Folio 16):

Hyde, Kingsbury:
Thomas WOOD, 52, Baker, not born in the county
Dorcas WOOD, 51, not born in the county
Ann WOOD, 19, born in the county
Sarah WOOD, 15, born in county
Dorcas WOOD, 13, born in the county
Frances WOOD, 11, born in the county
Emely WOOD, 8, born in the county
John HOW, 43, Ag lab, not born in the county

If Thomas TREADWELL was married to a Sarah WOOD(S) could this be the person?

I think we have now found that Thomas married Sarah Poor, everything seems to fit in so far
Thomas's father was Joseph who married Hannah Atwell 1815 Ispden, that ties in with Thomas being born 1816 Ipsden, parents Joseph and Hannah
I still don't know where the Wood(s) name comes in as yet, if at all, I will try to encourage my cousin to buy a relevant cert to clarify mother's maiden name
On Sarah and Thomas's marriage 1846 her father is shown as William Poor
I have searched every which way I can to find a Treadwell/Woods marriage to no avail

Thank you all so much

You've come a long way since I last logged on and suggested the marriage might be to Sarah Poor.

As you now have the details of that marriage, thanks to Galium, you need it confirmed that these are the parents and the only way of doing so is by the birth certificate of one of the children.  I hope you go along this line otherwise all the above is only speculation.

It would seam that Thomas Treadwell is one of 7 all born in or around Ipsden and Children of Joseph & Hannah and yes your cousin is going to order the cert for there marriage :)

I guess this is the "cousin" replying  ;D

It's not the marriage certificate you need, since you now have those details, you need a child's birth certificate which will confirm the mother's name.
