Hi,
My last post as far as i am aware is the most upto date i received details of the burial extract from my local council and therefore have updated the details accordingly,

I hope i have not wasted anyones time too much ,but the original information that i gave i thought was correct.

Again thanks to everyone who tried to help.

Since her birthdate seems to be before 1864 there will be no birth certificate so getting the marriage certificate would at least get details like her father's name and occupation as well as her residence.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Tagg,
With the complements of my wife. She has found a marriage in Bothwell, Lanark of Thomas Gordon to Rachel Workman. The certificate is headed "1886 Gordon, Thomas-Workman Rachel Statutory Marriages 625/01 0027).
The certificate is very difficult to read but parents look like George Gordon/Jeanie McCracken and James Workman/Rose McAteer. I have done a look-up in my Ireland sources and found the Marriage of James Workman to Rose McAteer which I listed earlier.
