Stalybridge Inquest
« on: Sunday 16 May 04 03:53 BST (UK) »
Hi Everyone :)

This is my first posting on RootsChat which I think is a terrific site.

I am hoping that someone can help me with the following information.

I have an ancestor - Richard Lock who died in Stalybridge, Lancashire (District Ashton-under-line) on October 2nd 1882. His inquest was held on October 3rd 1882 -  Coroner for Cheshire -  F.W. Johnson.

Can anyone tell me how I can access further details concerning this inquest?

Thank You
Jena ;D

Hello Kazza  :)

thanks a lot for that info. As I am in Oz I took a chance and emailed Stalybridge Library. A very helpful librarian found a report of the inquest in the local paper and a copy is on the way by post. Amazing what you can dig up after almost 150 years and a bit of help from your friends!

Cheers Jena ;D
