Its all a bit confusing to me lol my family is giving us the run around 

so Sidney Fisher 's mum is called Ellen Fisher

so i have 2 Ellen fisher's in my tree ?

Yes, it looks as though Sidney named a daughter after his mother.

Do i send off for sydney's birth cert or death as it looks like he has been telling porky's

is this his death  details ?

I'm not sure what either of the certs could tell you, actually - death certs are very uninformative.

The birth cert will show his exact birth date and probably confirm his mother as Ellen.

In my opinion, you won't get anything more conclusive than the Army papers I mentioned, showing mother Ellen as well as the Oak street address and the daughter Frances Edith.
