Michael Moore was born on April 17th 1838 in Coum, Co Kerry, Ireland. His parents were Michael Moore and Mary Mccarthy.He married Bridget Brosnihan, daughter of Andrew Brosnihan and Catherine Rahilly, on 4 Aug 1860. She died, and then he married Mary Nelligan. Mary Nelligan’s parents were John Nelligan and Joanna Griffin. Michael and Mary were married on March 24th 1870. At the time of this marriage they were both living on Middle St. in Dingle. Michael Moore was a widower and a sailor. Mary Nelligan was a spinster and a servant. The witnesses of this marriage were Patrick Neligan and Maurice Moynahan.

Michael and Bridget had one child: Catherine Moore who was born on 11 June 1866.

Michael and Mary had five children:
Bridget Moore who was born on 27 Feb 1871. She married Timothy Brown in Virginia.
Mary Moore- was born on 29 Jan 1873.
Michael Moore- was born 20 Sept 1874.
John Moore- was born 8 May 1876.
Joanna Moore- was born 30 Nov 1878.
