Hi . I have access to a "Shearn" family tree which has over 4,000 entries . This tree has two Ernest entries , one born in 1888 the other 1885 .
Have you made any progress . I have only seen your original note today .

Thanks for your contact. I am a direct descendant of Mark Shearn born Bath 1826 died Bath 1877. His parents were Adam Shearn born Farrington 1803 died Bath 1855 and Elizabeth (? maiden name) born believed to be Wincanton 1795 died Bath 1867. My Ernest dates are not the same as yours. I would be grateful if you have any information that you would be willing to share as I am having difficulty in going back any further. Thanks again.

Hi JJen,

I see on Rootschat that the SHEARN might have changed to SHEARER.   I think I have been in touch with
you before, regarding my late grandfather George Mark Cave's mother Sarah Shearn who was born in Bath in 1864 who married John William Cave, also what I  want to know if they divorced or separate and if she married
again what was her new husbands name and where did she live and die too.
Also there was either a relative or relation that lived in Beechen Place  Bath. dont know what connection
they where to my late nan Matilda Clementina Cave (nee Maggs) who lived in Bristol UK
Also I am sure that Sarah shearn mothers surname was Vizard, can you find out if her surname was ever
Sarah Manners and who lived at no 3 St Margarets Buildings, Walcot Bath, and that one of them was a nurse
was it Sarah Shearn or her Mother.
Any info would be of some help.

Hi,

Here is some information that I have been able to find -

John William Cave's death -
q3 1896, Barton R Vol 6a Page 78

In 1901 Sarah is a widow living with George M (son), Matida (dau) and John W (son) - surname recorded as Batt   ??? I think this is an error by the enumerator
RG13 Piece 2384 Folio 10 Page 12

Sarah Cave (nee Shearn) married George Francis Wish -
q1 1902, Bristol, Vol 6a Page 42

There is a death of a Sarah J Wish age 84 -
q1 1948, Bristol Vol 7b Page 192

George F Wish age 69 death -
q2 1942. Bristol Vol 6a Page 204

One of my ancestors on my Mother's side was a Seth Shearn from Farrington Gurney in Somerset. He was a coal miner. There are many Shearns in Somerset but the name is supposed to be of old Irish origin.
