Uniform/Badge identification for Thomas William Brown
« on: Monday 29 March 10 20:55 BST (UK) »
:) Hi,
Can some kind person help identify my grand-fathers regiment please,
the badge looks to me to be the shape of the Royal Artillery but there also appears to be a number '6' on it as if it was for the 6th battalion also do the pouches help identify it in any way. He lived in Hull when he signed on if that is of help.
Kind Regards,
Melm  :)

Was his wife called Lily, and his daughter Rhoda Lilian plus another daughter Clara - if so his service record is on Ancestry.

If this is the correct man it says he was in the 2nd Northumberland Brigade, RFA.

Hello Melm,

It looks like Royal Artillery to me.

I think you'll find that the 6 is a trick of the light though.

:D Hi,
Thanks for both your inputs on this topic, Tressle, you have got it spot on but unfortunately I'm still having a problem locating his records, can you give me the link or some info on the search you did.
Many Thanks,
Melm  ???
