Ironworkers in Stockton

So many of my ancestors were ironworkers.....1890+      Does anyone know if there are any records available of ironworks in the area and their employees???

There's a new archive project about British Steel which you might like to look through, not completed yet, but you could perhaps email the Archive project to see if they have your ancestors' records, I know they do have some

The Stockton works were South Durham Steel & Iron Co, before becoming part of British Steel

'At the Works' by Lady Florence Bell is essentially a biography of the life of iron workers at the Bell Brothers iron works in Port Clarence, Stockton (then regarded as in Middlesbrough at the time of writing) in the 1890-1910 ish period. I found it really interesting to look at their lives and working conditions. It can still be bought but I've also seen online etexts.

thanks Dan.....I've also been in touch with the British Steel Archives Project, which I'll be keeping an eye on over the summer as they are hoping to digitalise their records by then....so thanks everyone for your help!
