Ealthwena WHEATLEY COMPLETED
« on: Tuesday 30 March 10 13:48 BST (UK) »
I am looking for Ealthwena Ann wheatley.
The spelling of Ealthwena may not be correct, as I have Ealthwena?
She was born 4 October 1855 at Collector NSW Australia and married Edwin Thomas Isley at Gunning NSW.
Any information on Ealthwena would be helpful.

Thankyou Floggle toggle :)

On the NSW BMD index site her name is CALTHEVENAH ANN WHEATLEY.

Don't know if that will help.  Do you have the marriage certificate?

Her birth is EALTHWENA A Father Josiah and Mother Thomas M!!!! so think this must be hard to read.

No, just a name.
But Calthevenah, that is even more exotic than Ealthwena!

There are at least 4 variations on Ealthwenas name on NSW BDM.
2 of the sons' enlisted for War Service from South Australia.
Looks like Edwin ISLEY was in local council at Thebarton.
From google search, "Isley Thebarton"

Thankyou for this.
I didn't know about the sons, so this is a new direction. :)

Hi there,

From 1870/1 NSW Electoral Roll for Argyle :

John WHEATLEY, freehold at Collector
James WHEATLEY, residence at Currawang

From 1878/9 NSW ER for Argyle:
James W, residence at Currawang
David W, residence at Currawang

Cannot find WHEATLEY or ISLEY at Collector  or Currawang on 1903 roll.  No sighting of ISLEY at Gunning on 1903 roll.  Lots of Wheatley at Gunning Polling place on 1903, including:
Edward Josiah :) (Tressle notes Ealthwena's father as Josiah !) at farmer at Woodville.  Also at Woodville were Lydia, Mary Ann, as females at their domestic duties.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,  JM

Thanks for this.
It adds a bit more! I have just made (I think) a few connections on the family search IGI. It looks as if they were starting a new Wheatley dynasty in Australia!.
As to Josiah, I think :-\ it was Josiah Thomas and Mother Martha.

Thanks for the help
Simon
