Zibia Bennell
« on: Tuesday 30 March 10 19:31 BST (UK) »
Hello Rootschatters

I am trying to chase the youngest daughter of my great (x4) grandparents, Edmund and Esther Bennell. Her name was Zibia(h) Bennell, born 1850 at Radnage Buckinghamshire. She was baptised on 13 October 1850 at Radnage.

She married in Jun qtr 1869 to James Lazell at Dartford. They had a son, Ephraim James, born Mar qtr 1870 at Dartford (Beseley Parish according to 1871). I can spot them in the 1871 Census living Great Warley, Kent.

After this I lose site of them until Zibiah's remarriage in Mar 1894 at Kingston to either Henry Abner Edwards or Fred Leppard. After this I lost site completely

Can anyone help me fill in the gaps?

Thanks
Matt

Added - she married Henry Abner Edwards... I just found Fred Leppard with another wife in the 1901... Henry remarried in Edmonton in 1899 and 1900 so Zibiah must have died between 1894-1899.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the census refs, that's definately her and her son. Her son was Philip Bennell Lazell born 1874, married Alice Mary Bromley in 1899 (Guildford) and had two children by the 1901 Census: Lawrence and Doris.

Philip died in 1962 in British Colombia according to Ancestry. I think I need to ask someone with Ancestry World to help me find the details!

Thanks
Matt

Zibiah is listed on a couple of Ancestry trees. Someone has her date of death recorded as 26 December 1899.

Hope that's not right as Henry had remarried in Sep qtr 1899 (in fact it was 14 September) :D

Henry's next wife Susan didn't survive long after the marriage, apparently dying aged 45 in Dec qtr 1899 leaving Henry free to remarry again in Sep qtr 1900 :o

Nope.  Am starting to wonder what Henry did with all his (4?) wives!
