Do you have access to 1841 census because I reckon this would be a good place to start. I've had a look but I'm struggling, it may have been transcribed wrong so you could try all variants of her name.
If you find this, then you should have her parents names and then you can go from there.

The 1851 & 61 families are the same.You are unlikely to find 2 profiles like these.
It wasn't as unusual as you might think for people to change their names.
Do you have anything that absolutely rules this out?what do you have on Mary so far?
Mary Ann may have been born in Ireland as most of the names on IGI come from there.She may have migrated to Wales as a child during the famine as many others did.

Hi Jim,
This is all I've got. Potato famine would take them to Wales. The change of Richards to Richardson and back to Richards on their return to Newlyn by Mousehole could well have happened as my Wallis family changed from Wallish to Wallis!

You need to order a child's birth cert. if you think these might not be them,this will give the mother's maiden name.If you think they are you need to get the marriage cert. for her father's name.

Interested in the Condon family. My great, great grandmother, Mary Anne Condon married my great great grandfather in Portsmouth before coming down to Newlyn in West Cornwall. She appears prior to Portsmouth have been in Merthyr so am presuming the family came over in the Potato Famine. Any suggestions?
