Symon, Kemp, Steinson
« on: Friday 02 April 10 17:00 BST (UK) »
I'm researching the Symon family and have run into so many difficulties trying to sort out who is who.  I'm taking one problem at a time and really hope someone out there can help.

I've reached a marriage of Isabel Steinson to Alexander Grant in Keith, 24/03/1737 but cannot find a birth date for Isabel. I think there are 25 Isabel Steinsons all born in Fordyce between 1700 and 1720.  If anyone has already researched this family and can shed some light, I'd be grateful.

Also, I have Robert Kemp married to Elizabeth Goodfare (also Godfray, Godfear and Ganfrey), parents John Godfear and Jannet Davidson. Again, has anyone come across them in their researches? Does anyone know where the name came from - it sounds a corruption of the old norman french 'godfroi'?
Any help, advice or pointers gratefully received.
