Thanks to you all. I have checked prices and will probably wait until Autumn/Winter to renew - more cost effective in those dark dreary days. >:(

Intend to get out and about now instead. ;D More churchyard ramblings. Sounds like another book coming up. ::)

In order to see the costs try the free trials to both first (getting as much as you can in this time), then you can see how much they cost and whether you wish to subscribe to either or both.  But I do recommend that you try both to see which you prefer.

I think they might both do 6 monthly or annual subs (do not quote me on that, I do annual)

On Ancestry you can subscribe for a month at a time or buy a family tree maker programe on amazon at a reduced price that gives you 3 to 6 mths sub.

eg family tree maker 2010 platinum edition for £35 includes 6mths essential membership

I was due to renew my GenesReunited yesterday but just let it lapse, after replacing "continuous membership" with single. GR have now reinstated my FREE membership option so they have done the right thing! :D

That's a good question. ;D I am not sure of the detail though.

I think I am still able to add to my Family Tree on GR and other people can send me messages if there is a Hot Match. I don't think that I can reply to them though.

I'm just biding my time at present.

I send and receive quite a few emails through GR so perhaps I need to keep mine going for a while :D

I don't think that I can reply to them though.

You can reply to messages that you receive but you can not send any message in the first instance.
