Hi teaurn,  No they did not know,   it was an older member of part the Taylor family at a Taylor reunion in 2006.  All she said was that the story was told that he came from well to do family who had land.   That was all she could tell us.

I wish we asked questions before the older members died as this lady has now died so anything else she could have told us has gone with her.

Do we give up on ancestors that don't show parents or is there another way to find them.  It is frustration to think that is it.   I can go back on his wife's side as she was born in Silloth and have her parents etc.
