You have found wonderful information.I think Ethel told less than truth on her second marriage certificate. Even changed the name of her father and her birthdate. We know its real as we have the original. So we should have questioned the widow part as well. Thanks again for your your help the information gets better and better.

Kia ora, Abraham Paul was my grandfather. After Ethel he married my grandmother Pikihuia.  They had a few children and heaps of moko. My mother met her half brothers when they had a reunion a few years back.

Hi there.  My name is Rochelle Boylan.  Abraham Paul was my great grandfather, and Ethel May Shepard was my fathers Grandmother.  I may have some information you're after.  Abraham Paul was Ethel May Shepards first husband, their first son was Fredric Abraham Paul (my dads father, my grandfather).  There are two deceptions on Ethel May's documents... firstly she listed herself as widow, and secondly, she used the married name Pora.  The Maori name for Paul is Paora, not Pora.  Ethel May was still legally married to Abraham when she married Mr Boylan.  Mr Boylan adopted my grandfather (Fredric) and changed his surname to Boylan.

I realise your message on this site was written some years ago, but would been keen to connect with you, if you'd be willing?

My family attended te whanau reunion at Tinopai and Repia almost twenty years ago, and I'm keen to document much of our whakapapa.

Best wishes
Rochelle Boylan
