This is William Hutton (and his wife!) born in Earlston in 1804, married 1831 in Calton, Glasgow, died in Stirling 1883. When is the photograph likely to have been taken? Does anyone know please?

if his wife(margaret kilpatrick born c1807 ?) died in 1866 that would give you
a start
