Hi Jenny
There is not a county wide index to search for Cheshire, individual districts are indexed though, can you say which area of Cheshire he may be in, why was he in Cheshire, and who with ?

Hi Peter,

I am really not sure where he will be. He travelled around a lot preaching but I have a few references to him in Cheshire in the 1850's as follows:

Married 1 May 1856 at Parkgate Chapel (Independent) Wirral, Chester. He was recorded as living in Ness at the time of his marraige.

Also a mention in a newspaper article about him states that sometime before 1856 he was arrested in Chester. Apparently he went to Chester with Mr Ratcliffe (barrister) to preach during the races and they were arrested for obstructing the streets/brawling and held in the castle. I do not know when this happened as yet  ;)

I hope this helps. I do not know who he would be living with - his wife was an Elizabeth Warburton - I have her at her parents for the 1851 census already.

Thanks

Jenny
