how do i find WW1 service records .
reg 2nd Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers..
trying to find records of my grans brother.

k.i.A 16/5/1915. aged 17

also could anyone tell me in which conflict he died...

There appears to be some anomaly on his medal index card. CWGC & SDGW both agree that he died 16th May 1915, but his MIC says that he entered France 24th November 1915. It also notes Presumed Dead. I assume that 1915 should read 1914.

I can't see a surviving service record for him.

He would have joined around Spring 1914.

At the time of his death, 2nd Battalion RIF were in 5th Infantry Brigade, 2nd Division. 2nd Ypres was going on at this time.
