Of course it is quite possible that, although he sent the postcard in Nov 1918, the photo could have been taken before then.

whot pete sead makes sence i would think raf equment would be given when the person returned to the uk or maybe as erley as jan 1919 with out seeing the records it is just a hypothasis as i now live in the US and is next to imposable to get to kew

i beleve he could of be ground crew as the lack of wings makes me beleve that but again that may not be 100%

Thanks Cobb. I think you are right in your assumption that he was probably ground crew.  It is not easy for me to get to Kew either. Hopefully one day, more will be on line. Having said that there's an awful lot more than there used to be...
