I've found one that says Mudford (transcribed as Midford) in 1851 as a visitor to the Hollett family down in dorset,  but gives age 22.

Robert Hollett 29
Sarah Hollett 31
Kitty Hollett 5
Charles Colloyprait 21
George Hill 22

Does he have a middle name?  I can't find him in 61, but there is a George R Hill Born Mudord, living in Dorset with wife Sussanah and children.  But he put his age as 40 which places DoB 1831

Hi Garth
I dont know of any middle name for that George, but it does sound very interesting as the gentleman you found is quite possibly Richard George Hill who married Susannah Linscombe who was his own cousin. Are the children called Edwin and Rowland.

Lots of John hill in Sommerset, mostly DoB estimated at 1906.  Unfortunately the 1841 give place of residence and just if born in same county, so could be born in any town and it'll just say Sommerset.

I can't go through them all just now, most seem to be John and Jane, but I'll look in this thread tomorrow night and if you've not got answers I'll work down the list.

The 1871 family are:
George R Hill 40
Susanna L Hill 39
Edwin G Hill 5
Bozoling L Hill 3
Mary E Hill 7 months
Henrietta Hill 9
