Cwmcoch, Llandarrog, Carms
« on: Thursday 15 April 10 19:38 BST (UK) »
Has anyone any info. on Cwmcoch please. Was it the name of a farm or district of Llandarrog. My 2 Grt.Grandfather William David was baptised at Llandarrog on 1/2/1801 whereby his Father John David resided at Cwmcoch stating occupation Farmer.
Cannot confirm Mother's name but believe to be Elizabeth and marriage of a John David and Elizabeth Arthur 1/1/1799 at Llandarrog seems to be most likely.
Only death I can find of anyone at Cwmcoch is a Lettice David 7/11/1829 age 72  but what relationship if any to John David I cannot determine. Any info. appreciated on Cwmcoch or David family most welcome as I have come to dead end.
Thanks for taking time to read of my problem. Syljun

think it may be the name of a farm. I looked up the 1881 where you can search by address, and putting in Cwmcoch in address and Llanddarog as the parish found one family at Cwmcoch farm.

Looks to be a dairy now

Thanks Osprey but how did you access 1881 Census by address as it wouldn't work for me putting Cwmcoch, however I tried variations, but nothing. Syljun

it works on Ancestry if you're using the old search. Try selecting Carmarthenshire as county, Llanddarog as parish, then Cwmcoch in the address field. It was a family of Griffiths from memory.

Thanks, I have never subscribed to Ancestry, using other web-sites . Too far down in research to use them now  but will use Griffiths name to access LDS. Thanks again for your help. I find Carmarthenshire very difficult to research even after buying CD's, and microfiche from Dyfed F.H.S.

census ref is RG11/5393 folio 100 pg 2. Try searching for Richard Griffiths born 1878, parents John & Mary.
