Hi Wilsu,
As my first message says my interest is the David family but would be interested to know if there is any connection to Griffiths family possibly by marriage or whether the farm was sold. Maybe John David was a tenant or even an Ag.Lab who worked on farm.
Any info. of farm as to owners would be of interest if you have any.
Regards,
Syljun

Sorry but I don't think any of those Cwmcoch references are the one in Llanddarog.

Interestingly there is a notable connection with Cwmcoch (or Cwm-coch) Llanddarog. The father of Archdeacon David John Davies (1879-1935), Principal of the Moore Theological College at Sydney University, was a farmer's son from Cwmcoch Farm, Llanddarog. His name was David Davies and he married Sarah Pugh Rees of Llanedy Parish. They were both teachers.

Thank you morganllan,
Very grateful for information. I hope I can sort the David/Davies family out. My William David born Llandarrog 1801 moved to Llanelly and as time went on the name changed to Davies. His father John David on baptism of William  gave his address as Cwmcoch - Farmer. I believe he must have died before Census unfortunately so difficult to sort out who is who as childrens names are the same down the line. I also cannot find any siblings of William so he must have been an only child.
Very interested in Sidney connection and hope to find out more  but cannot read Welsh.
Thanks again,
Syljun

Hello syljun

There's lots of English information online but I've sent a PM with a rough translation of the article  :)

Best wishes

Hello  I am replying to this thread  because I have also found Lettice David burial in Llanddorog records on freereg.  She was 72 and living at Cwmcoch.
I would like to connect her to baptisms at LLannon and a marriage of Lettice Hugh to Thomas David  10 Dec 1793.
Baptism of Thomas Thomas to Thomas David and Lettice    02 Nov 1800  Also Llannon
this would tie in with my 3 greats grandfather  Thomas Thomas b. approx 1800 and living in Llangyfelach during the 1841 census. Checked the box that he was born out of county. He was a butcher and married to Jemima.  His daughter Eleanor was the mother of my great grandmother.  A thomas Thomas and Jemima baptize Evan  in Llannon 18 April 1825.  That's  my slender thread.   Can't find any baptisms or Marriage in the Swansea area and maybe this is the explanation
Appreciate any help advise or leads.  Can't quite locate Llannon yet to see if it close.      Thanks for reading  Liz
