Royal defence force 1914/

I would be grateful if someone could help re/the above  I have a service No it is 37066 the name is Bartholomew mahoney who was from waterford the reason is we have a deth cert  one of his children  and it give the father occupation as a solider   he would have been a linesman   sorry I cant be of more help .

I don't know if it is co-incidence, but there is a medal index card for a Bartholomew Mahoney, Sapper 37066 Royal Engineers, formerly(?) 7271 Irish Guards.

thank you sorry I did not see the small print with that other No  is it possible to find out where in waterford he came from and when he joind up once many thanks for your reply.

Hi You could try Irish Guards archives and see if his IG records survive.I did it with a Coldstreamer i was researching who transferred to Royal Engineers and his Guards records survived but RE one didnt.
