I have accessed the COI baptisms for Wicklow....I was very happy to see them finally online.  I find, however, that the search parameters are still restrictive(for all the counties)....I have asked them to expand search parameters to include  last name together with the suspected  parish so that searches will be more accurate but to no avail....Maybe if we all speak up they will change that.

All in all though, I am happy they are online...Just don't spend too much money on blind searches...:)

you can do a search search by parish with surname... once you enter at least an initial, you dont need to enter a full first name. It does take a few minutes to try all the common initials - but it's worthwhile to narrow the search.

You can also include father's first name to further narrow the search.

I just used that trick to find some children of an ancestor of mine in Bray CofI parish

He just cost me a few euro too! .. as it turns out he had another eight children I didn't know the full details on.

just to update on the kinds of details included in these baptism records. I've only viewed records from Bray parish so far...and for dates between the 1830s and 1870s

  Child's name and gender
Date of Baptism/Birth  - does not specify which is given
Address - house name, and town
  Parish name / religious denomination
  Father's full name
  Father's occupation
  Mother's first name

None of the records I viewed had sponsors listed. Comments included notes about twins
