Kentucky marriage records 1900s
« on: Monday 19 April 10 21:59 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have access to marriage records for Kentucky other than those on An....try? I am trying to find if Pauline Mackin married either a Robert Rhea Corcoran in c.1924 or a Jeremiah Neville in c.1940. She was born in Louisville in 1901. She moved to Chicago & died in there in 1971. I can't find trace of her marriage to Jeremiah Neville in Chicago.

Oh dear, could the RAOGK in Illinois not find the marriage to Jeremiah Neville ?

I remember Pauine being on the 1930 Census with Robert Cocoran married at age 23 years whch made the marriage 1924/25.

There  are no marriage records online for Kentucky as I understand it Central registration of marriages and divorces began in Kentucky in June 1958. The Office of Vital Statistics does not have records of marriages or divorces prior to 1958. To inquire about marriage certificates prior to June 1958, you would need to contact the county clerk in the county where the marriage license was issued.

Thanks again dettori28 for your help. I had no luck with the lookup on the RAOGK although I did get lots of advice.
I guess I'll have to abandon this search and add it to my list of brick-walls!!

Have you checked any of the libraries to see if they will do a look up for you.  It could be worth an e-mail.  ???

there seems to be some hits in the Chicago Tribune for "Jeremiah" if you search for "Jeremiah P Neville" (looks like death notice/obituary).
Possibly these records might mention a place in Kentucky or when he came to Chicago, etc.

Thanks for replying. I have copies of the obits and they don't clear any mysteries up. I know Pauline came from Louisville, Kentucky. I also know Jerry & Pauline married in or around 1940 but can't find where :(
I found a record on the pedigree search on LDS site which suggested Pauline Rosary Mackin had married a Robert Rhea Corcoran in Louisville, Kentucky in 1924 but can't find documentation to confirm this & if she did marry in 1924 was she a widow or divorced when she married Jerry Neville? ???
Too many unanswerable questions!!!
