Hi.not sure where this shuld go so will try here.I saw this topick befor(dont know where)about letering on graves ,there meaning.
this one has got me puzzzzzzzzled. its  SHI inter twined.anyone know the meaning.thanks.   :o  Ted

If the writing is in poor condition it could be Still inter twined

More likely to be IHS, one of the 'sacred monograms', usually explained as taken from the Greek word for Jesus, but also interpreted in other ways.  Try Google for fuller details.

IHS (Greek)  are the first three letters of Jesus. Can also be for Iesus Hominum Salvator (Jesus Savior of Men). Other explanations are In hac salus ('in this [cross] salvation'), and In hoc signo ('in this sign[ye shall conquer]')
