Help with service info on Kent please.
« on: Tuesday 20 April 10 13:33 BST (UK) »
I am trying to get any information at all on my Grandfathers WW1 service. Unfortunately all I have to go on is the following limited details.
Reginald Vernon Kent, born 2nd January 1886 at 57 Bridlington Street U.S.D (not sure where that is, maybe Hyson Green). My grandmothers name was Gladys nee Fletcher, born at Long Eaton 24th Jan 1886 (she worked at Chilwell munitions factory during WW1). It is said that they migrated to (Melbourne) Australia in 1923 and not long after Reginald died of war wounds.
Any help re his service, unit or even pointing me in the right direction will be very much appreciated,Thank you.
Fletcher,Flecher,Kent,Hooton,Annert,Woodward, Smith,Spicer,Livingstone,Archer,Deslandes.

That card shows he got the silver war badge Gortonboy.
And as he may have died from his wounds, it would fit.
Also says his rank was corporal
