Link - Brisbane QLD, Grave locations
« on: Friday 25 March 05 08:11 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

A web site which has helped me a great deal is one that the Brisbane City Council has put up called - Grave Location Search.

http://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/community/community-support/funeral-planning-and-grave-search/grave-location-search

If you think someone you are searching for was buried in Brisbane this site is fantastic  ;D

You don't need to know the exact cemetery you can just search by last name and hopefully they pop up - the site covers the following cemeteries:

Bald Hills
Balmoral (aka Bulimba)
Brookfield
Cedar Creek
Hemmant
Lutwyche
Moggill
Mt Gravatt
Nundah
Pinnaroo
South Brisbane (aka Dutton Park)
Toowong

You get info as to who else is in the grave, the location and even an aerial photo if you want to visit  ;)

If you want to visit - don't depend on those aerial photos - impossible to find some graves - go via the Toowong Cemetery & a lovely man will give you a map & details of the surrounding graves - compulsory for finding the unmarked (and sometimes the marked) graves.
