I'm glad I came across this thread - I was thinknig I was doing something stupid when I keyed in "William Baker" and it came up with a whole load of other Bakers - I thought there must be SOME Williams!

Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

CaroleW I am not using the new search feature because like you Ihate it.  I am getting the same as everyone else and in fact this spread to the 1871 later in the evening so I suspect Ancestry are up to something

Blimey - you are right.  I've just tried a search and got a load of gooble de gook like the 1851

I bet they are getting a lot of irate emails!!

And now it is affecting the 1871 census searches and complaints are flying in from all mailing lists I am on.
