Ex Seaman Royal Navy
« on: Saturday 24 April 10 10:27 BST (UK) »
I have a birth certificate for April 1918 where the father states his occupation as Wirerope Splicer Ex Seaman Royal Navy.... The father is: Albert E Finney

Does that mean he is now unemployed as he has left the Royal Navy. ???   WW1 didn't end until November 1918, so I was surprised to see Ex-Royal Navy as occupation.

I don't know what year or where this man was born.... a possibility is 1896 Lancashire.

Any ideas please.

He may have been discharged to pension through sickness or wounds

Hi ady, :)

The birth year isn't correct for the man I have in mind, it might come in handy later on if my re-search proves incorrect though.
