This site has gone back further with parents for Andrew Sr. Joel MEEKS & Elizabeth THOMPSON born U.S. and both with ancestors listed from U.S. as well...includes some sources...but you'll need to verify if they are documented sources

( William Thompson who fought in the Revolution/  KRRNY regiment. His wife was Magdalane Keller, known as Layna.( & Lydia?) http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=akaboojee&id=I4473
Note that they are sometimes initialed with U.E. which stands for "Unity of the Empire" or Empire Loyalists....and some sites have misunderstood and used this as their initials...

Wonder if we can look into the Whaley family now...

Thanks J.J.  The site got me more dates for the children which I didn't have.  After John Meeks, I got back two more times with Edward Jr. (b. 10 May 1680 in Manor Twp, Armstrong Co, Pensylvania d. 1707 in NY City, NY Then it's Edward Sr (b. 1665 in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England and d. Aug. 1689 in Spuyten Duyvil, NY (Lower Yonkers) . The first married (1707) Mary Bastinene Kortright (1690 - 1768).  The second married (1680) Sarah Merrett (1669 - 1702). All information was found from ancestry family trees, so needs to be confirmed.

Hi

Would your Margaret Meeks be Margaret Wayling born in PEI? Margaret Wayling was the daughter of William Charles Wayling and Julia McKeown and had a brother William.

Again, perhaps not the actual family or even related, but proximity makes me point them out..   I do see another Whaley family in Fenelon Falls, however they are older and had one child prior to 1901 and another 1907, listed as having died... altho it isn't hugely likely......They may be related to the Peterborough ones as males named Murt/Murty... They aren't visible to me in 1911.....there is a Murt listed in Manitoba but don't have access....was there a Manitoba connection stated earlier... These post census searches are tough... :D

I think this Margaret Meeks is a member of the Wayling family from Montague, PEI.  Margaret Wayling and her brother William Charles Wayling moved from PEI to Oshawa area and previous to that they resided for sometime at Commercial Cross (lot 59), PE with Hugh and Jane Daly.  Their mother Julia Mary McKeown was born 1892 in Georgetown, PE the daughter of Margaret McBeth and Mortimer McKeown.  She married William Wayling and he came from Saskchewan.  I checked with one source and he confirmed the names of some of Margaret's children in an earlier post.

Have messaged the poster, as notification may have been turned off when the site was overloaded...  Hopefully they will reply soon and you can exchange information... You may have  to wait for a marriage to turn up, to prove, but that could well be the Prairie connection mentioned on the post as being Manitoba or Saskatchewan.  J.J.
